Rogers Townsend & Thomas Attorney Serves Another Term as Associate City Judge

Columbia, SC June 30, 2004 -- The law firm of Rogers Townsend & Thomas, PC, is pleased to announce that James S. Guignard, of counsel to the firm, has been selected to serve another term as an associate city judge. As an associate city judge, he substitutes for regular city judges, hearing misdemeanor criminal and traffic cases, setting bonds at the county detention center for persons arrested by city police, and conducting preliminary hearings for cases to be tried in circuit court. Mr. Guignard has served as an associate judge since 1996.

About James S. Guignard
Mr. Guignard practices general law, with an emphasis on commercial and real estate transactions and estate planning. He received his B.A. degree from the University of the South (Sewanee) and his J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is admitted to the South Carolina Bar, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, the United States Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a member of the South Carolina Supreme Court's Commission on Lawyer Conduct and he is a member of the House of Delegates of the South Carolina Bar.
